I am heading to disney in 1 week, My daughter (12) doesn't like rides that may her stomach drop, but of course my son (11) loves them. are the water rides at blizzard beach all scary?

There a little bit of everything at Blizzard Beach. Two of the slides in particular, Summit Plummet and Slush Gusher, are big and fast and most definitely "stomach drop" rides. Your son will be in heaven, but I'm sure your daughter will want to avoid these.

There are several other more mild water slides that my girls (ages 8 and 11) adore. They do have some drops, but if your daughter could do the slide at your resort pool, then she'd likely be fine there. One of my family's top two favorite rides in all of WDW is at Blizzard Beach: Teamboat Springs. This ride has quick side-to-side and forward motion, but the drops are not particularly "rollercoastery" in feel. The thing we like the most about this is that we're all in it together. The entire family sits in one circular raft, facing each other. I love being able to watch my kids' faces as they blast through a waterfall. And I think they like watching mom having as much fun as they are.

A few of the attractions at Blizzard Beach are completely mild. Cross Country creek is a lazy river, where you can drift along in an inner tube around the entire perimeter of the park. Meltaway Bay is a gentle wave pool where you can bob around in the "surf."

Another great feature of BB is the Ski Patrol Training Camp. This area is specifically designed for tweenagers. There is a zip line that drops you into a pool and a pool that you have to cross while walking across floating "icebergs."

I think there's enough at BB to make both your kids extremely happy. Hope you have a great trip!
