Hello! We are heading to Disney January 1! My aunt will be joining us for her very first visit! We are staying at POFQ. She cannot walk long distances so we'll be renting a scooter for her. Do we need to request an accesible room to accommodate this?

Not necessarily, but you do need to call Disney and let them make the decision. We have had it happen both ways. Once my mom visited shortly after having ankle surgery and they opted to give her an accessible room to accommodate her wheelchair.

On another visit, two of my husband's family members were in a scooter and a wheelchair, and they did not receive an accessible room. They were, however, given a room on the first floor, and parked the scooter by the door.

Just call 1-407-934-7639 and let them know that you will have a guest with a scooter in your party, and they will place you accordingly.

    Have a wonderful vacation!
