Greetings Emma, and welcome to planDisney!
How exciting that your summer Disney World vacation is coming up soon. Your husband is certain to love this fishing excursion surprise you have in mind! My family of four enjoyed an afternoon of guided bass fishing at Walt Disney World, and it's one of our favorite vacation memories. I hope you plan on joining him!
All fishing at Disney World is catch-and-release. Here's an overview of your options.
You can rent some fishing gear and fish from the dock! This option is nice and flexible, as it does not require any reservations. Dockside fishing and gear rental is available at a couple of locations: Fishin' Hole at Ol' Man Island at Disney's
Port Orleans Resort – Riverside and the Bike Barn at Disney’s
Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground.
Or you could enjoy a 2-hour or 4-hour
guided fishing excursion on a boat! This is what my family experienced on a pontoon boat, and we absolutely loved it. The excursion was so relaxing and fun, all necessary gear and bait were provided... and it even included complementary snacks and drinks. Prices are subject to change and vary a bit by boat type and marina location. Here are some examples of current prices, to give you an idea of the price range.
- 2-hour Bass Nitro boat tour, 1 guest, departing from Ft. Wilderness - $199.00
- 2-hour Bass Nitro boat tour, up to 3 guests, departing from Ft. Wilderness - $259.00 (price per boat)
- 4-hour Bass Nitro boat tour, up to 3 guests, departing from Yacht Club - $455.00 (price per boat)
- 2-hour Guided Bass Fishing on Pontoon Boat, up to 5 guests, departing from Caribbean Beach - $299.00 (price per boat)
- 4-hour Guided Bass Fishing on Pontoon Boat, up to 5 guests, departing from Caribbean Beach - $499.00 (price per boat)
To reserve a guided fishing excursion, call
Disney Recreation Reservations up to 60 days in advance. You are not required to be a Disney Resort guest in order to book and these tours are very popular, so I recommend calling as soon as you can! Payment is due in full when making the reservation. Guests are allowed to also bring their own food and beverages.
Sending pixie dust your way for a magical adventure and plenty of "fish on!" Please send me another

Have a magical day!
