Hi! We are heading to Dis. next week. We will be there for a week during 4th of July. We are staying at the CBR. Just wondering, are the buses a nightmare especially during that time. I am concidering changing the res. to the Pol. Is it worth the $?

    Hi Carleen,

There is no doubt that the Disney parks will be quite crowded during the Independence Day holiday. I am a huge fan of DIsney transportation and we rely on it almost exclusively for all of our Disney vacations. The buses will be quite crowded due to the increase in crowds however there is good news here too. Disney World is well aware of the increase in crowds for the holiday, and plans accordingly.

We have visited Disney World a number of times for the 4th of July and I can honestly say that the buses were no harder to use then our visits in late June or July. They are crowded but often run much more frequently. I think the lines at the Disney buses will still be easier and less stressful than parking and the traffic.

Now onto your other thought of the Polynesian...it is a beautiful resort and does offer the ease of the monorail for visits to Magic Kingdom and Epcot.. If you are considering a stay at the Polynesian due to its proximity to Magic Kingdom and the beauty of the resort, then I say go for it. Just remember the monorail shares a ride with two other resorts as well as guests utilizing the Ticket and Transportation Center, so the cars most likely will be quite crowded also. Just remember to allow a little extra travel time and relax and enjoy. A line at Disney is still a better place to be then a line at home.
