    I am headed to the world in 12 days. I am a slacker. I have been trying for a month to get dining reservations before I go. Think I will have better luck once in Florida? I'll try to be more prepared next year. Thanks

    Sharon,

    Chin up! All is not lost! Here are my comments/suggestions;

    1. Keep trying. Cancellations happen. Right up to the last minute. Don't expect them, but assume they will happen. So keep the phone number handy and call repeatedly, even when you are at Walt Disney World.
    2. Try walking up. You can still walk up to a restaurant and ask. They will give you an idea of the likelihood of getting a table, and you don't have to wait around, wasting time. And you could get lucky.
    3. Consider quick service meals. There are some great ones that offer more than run-of-the-mill pizza or yet another bland burger. You can find fantastic BBQ (Flame Tree BBQ in the Animal Kingdom), exotic breakfast entrees (like the Tonga Toast at Captain Cooks in the Polynesian Resort), and great salads and other foods all over the place.
    If you write me back with locations, cuisine preferences, and meal times (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner), I can make recommendations for good counter service meals!

    Have a magical (and delicious) vacation!
