Headed to WDW 3/10 w/DH, DS, & DD (ages 4 & 2) and struggling with the DP options. We want to do some character meals - is it worth paying the extra to get the Deluxe plan and using the TS trade in or better to pay out of pocket for those?

    Hello fellow Kentuckian!

Character dining is included in the Basic Disney Dining plan.  If you'd like to eat at Cinderella's Royal Table (CRT) that would require two table service credits, but as of 10/09 the other character meals are all one credit each.

I have 3 daughters ages 6, 4, and 2 so we eat a lot of character meals as well, and we've always found the basic dining plan to be sufficient to cover them.  We often take food like granola bars, cereal, pop tarts, etc and have breakfast in the room, then enjoy a quick service lunch and a table service dinner.  When we elect to eat a character breakfast, we usually schedule it later so it serves as brunch and still covers two meals.  This strategy has worked well for us and allowed us to stretch our food dollar.

Best of luck with your planning!
