Hi Monica,
We rarely purchase Disney's Memory Maker on our vacations because we are visiting the Walt Disney World Resorts at least once a year. However, when we went on vacation in December with our best friends, we knew we wanted Memory Maker to capture this trip.
Memory Maker is a great way to capture your photos on select attractions and meals. You also can use Disney's PhotoPass Photographers in the parks and with character experiences to take your photos. It almost eliminates your need for a camera. You can share this with everyone in your party using My Disney Experience. If this is a special trip, I would say to take advantage of Memory Maker.
As for dinner the first night, there are a few places which come to mine. My first is
Whispering Canyon Café in the Wilderness Lodge. This is my favorite place to eat in all of Disney. Keeping casual, you can go to
'Ohana and the watch the fireworks from the beach of Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. If you want something a little fancier, the
Wave...of American Flavors in Disney's Contemporary is great, and for super fancy, Disney's
California Grill is the way to go.
You could also head to Disney Springs and dine at any of the fabulous restaurants at this location.
Wishing you a magical vacation!
Beth
