Ahoy, Kellie!
Congratulations on your upcoming voyage on the
Disney Wonder in March! My family loves to sail with Disney Cruise Line because we feel they
offer the best value and the service can't be beat! I love your idea to give thank you notes to those onboard that will go the extra mile to make your sailing both magical and special. I can only imagine how thrilled the crew members will be to receive such a thoughtful gesture handmade by your sailor. My two kids have grown up experiencing the phenomenal
youth programs and have always found the counselors to be a big reason why they enjoy spending so much time in these spaces. They have made their visits not only memorable and fun but also safe and secure. Since the youth staff cannot accept gratuities, this sign of thanks will be very well received.
Gratuities for others (stateroom hosts, dining servers/managers, bar servers, spa attendants, and port adventure guides) during your sailing are always at your discretion. Disney Cruise Line does offer tipping suggestions as a guide, but it is up to you on how you want to handle this while onboard. On the last day of your cruise, you'll receive a set of labeled envelopes along with a perforated paper with your prepaid gratuity amounts for your dining servers and stateroom host. Cash can be added to the envelopes before you present them to your dining team and stateroom host on the final night or morning of your cruise. This is an excellent option if you feel you'd like to show some extra appreciation for the services received during your vacation.
I'm so glad you cruised over with your questions, Kellie! Please come back to "sea" us as you think of more! We are always so happy to help a fellow cruiser.
Have a magical day!
Nancy
