Headed to Disney May 6th. 5 nights. On arrival night with a 3 yr old do you think it would be easier to hit Chef Mickey for dinner or hit Disney Springs & go to TRex? The 1 we don't do arrival night we would before or after a park day. Thoughts?

    Hi Jennifer,

It sure sounds like you're planning a super fun visit to the Walt Disney World Resort! You and your little one are going to have a BLAST!

My family actually loves to visit Chef Mickey's on our arrival day. Enjoying a delicious dinner and some napkin swinging fun with Mickey Mouse himself and all his pals feels like the perfect place to kick off our visit to the most magical place on earth! Plus, if you start your visit with some Mickey time, you can enjoy an evening at Disney Springs later in the week, which I think is always a fun place to visit. Of course, you know your family best, so if you have a dinosaur-loving Mouseketeer in your party, I'm sure you'd have lots of fun kicking off your visit at T-REX as well. You're really not going to go wrong either way!

Whenever you do decide to dine at Chef Mickey's, I'd suggest having your camera out and ready throughout your meal. I like to video tape the entire interaction between the characters and my kiddos. I've found through the years that sometimes the greeting and the farewell can be some of the most precious, funny, or memorable moments, and I love that I have these interactions on video to enjoy for years to come.

Thanks so much for visiting us at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Jennifer, and please let us know if we can help with anything else as you're planning your trip. I hope that you have a truly magical...and delicious...vacation!
