Hi Douglas,
The
Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a beautiful oasis in the middle of Disney World. Most people don't even know that this escape exists but once you visit for the first time you will never forget how much it feels like you are in the middle of the woods while being just minutes away from the magic. There are several fabulous outdoorsy activities for your family to participate in while visiting this retreat.
Currently,
Crockett's Tavern is hosting the Wine and Woodshop event every Tuesday at 11:30 AM. Keep in mind that dates and times are always subject to change for extras like this. I have never actually tried this activity but some of my friends have and said it was a great time. You will be able to create a custom work of art out of wood while enjoying some drinks! They provide everything you need for the activity but it is an additional fee. Reservations are highly recommended because the event is limited in capacity. To book this event, you will need to contact the
Tours, Recreation phone line at Disney World. While you are on the phone with them, you may want to consider booking any other Enchanting Extras that your family wishes to try. These are all available to book 60 days before your trip!
My favorite
Enchanting Extra is the
Wild Africa Trek. My family has had this experience multiple times and it never gets any less exciting. You will go on a semi-private tour of the savanna, have an up-close animal experience, speak to some of the trainers, and get special treats to devour on the Boma with a spectacular view. If you want something with a little more creative edge, the
Amorette's Patisserie Cake Decorating Experience is a fun hands-on activity that you get to eat afterward!
Happy Planning,
Jenna
