Ahoy, Jodi!
You have an amazing voyage to look forward to this summer on the newly re-imagined Disney Wonder! One of my favorite parts of our Alaskan cruise was the stunning scenery that we experienced sailing through the inside passage and cruising the breathtaking fjord, Tracy Arm. I spent the majority of my time soaking it all in on deck.
Ketchikan was the last port of call on our sailing, and we loved visiting this quaint, waterfront town. Ironically, it was the stop with the best weather (75 degrees and sunny) even though it's known in North America as one of the rainiest cities because of its location in the rainforest. I hope you have the weather we experienced back in 2015!
I checked your itinerary and noticed you are scheduled to be in port from 9:00 a.m. to 7:45 p.m., which should allow you to make the most of your day. We did plan two Port Adventures for that day-the
Great Alaskan Lumberjack Show in the morning and the
Rainforest Canopy and Zipline Expedition in the afternoon. Disney Cruise Line does allow you to book multiple excursions as long as they don't overlap and there is enough travel time in between. You can explore your options online once your booking window opens up. As you go through the process, you will be able to check availability and choose a time for each one since many excursions offer multiple time choices. My recommendation is to come up with a list of several possibilities (there are so many great ones to select) so you can be flexible if any of your selections are sold out.
Enjoy planning your day in Ketchikan, Jodi! Please write back if you need any further help with your plans.
Alaska awaits!
