Hi there, I am having my next trip to Disney at Christmas and will be staying at my DVC resort with my son. My question is can I just buy one dining plan as my son doesn’t eat that much so thinking 1 plan would be enough?

Welcome Home Scott, and thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Christmastime at Walt Disney World Resort is the absolute most Wonderful Time of the Year! All of the Resorts and Theme Parks are decked out in their holiday attire, and it makes the atmosphere Magical!

The Disney Dining Plan is available to all Resort hotel guests and is an excellent way to pay for most of your dining experiences while visiting Walt Disney World. Especially during the holidays, you will have the opportunity to experience phenomenal meals (Epcot's Holiday Kitchens, anyone?)! When you add the dining plan to your hotel reservation, each person staying in the room will receive the allotted credits for the length of your stay. Unfortunately, this means that you cannot purchase only one dining plan for two guests.

My family are grazers, and the littles eat like birds, so when we enjoy a dining plan, we usually choose the Quick-Service Dining Plan. This allows us to grab small meals on the go, and we don’t feel overwhelmed by the amount of food. Our newest favorite thing to do is to use the My Disney Experience app to pre-order our food while we wait in line at an attraction. The picky eaters have time to decide what they want to eat, and our time in the Parks is much more efficient (which speaks to the soul of this Disney-planning mama).

Scott, if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to come back. I wish you much holiday chEAR.
