Welcome aboard, Michelle! Later this summer, your family is in for the vacation of a lifetime when you set sail on the Disney Fantasy! I'm excited to hear you'll be sailing on that beautiful ship!
Your seven-night sailing will include five Cruise Casual nights (including one
Pirate Night), one Semi-Formal night and one Formal night. On the Cruise Casual nights, Disney Cruise Line recently amended their policy on denim and shorts. They now allow nice, dressy jeans and nice shorts in the main dining rooms on Cruise Casual nights. You'll see most men wearing khaki pants or shorts and polo shirts those nights.
Formal and Semi-Formal nights are the nights to dress it up a bit more. On those evenings, a dress shirt (with or without tie), sometimes a jacket for the men, and nicer outfits for the ladies are appropriate. You'll see everything from men in khakis and a dress shirt to men in tuxedos, so find where your husband feels most comfortable in that range and he'll be fine. But, I do suggest you plan to dress in your nicest clothes that you pack those two nights. Plus, the Disney characters will be out in their formal best for photos that night, which makes for a nice picture!
Should you choose to forego dining in one of the main restaurants on those nights, you can always opt to dine in
Cabanas which becomes a casual table service restaurant at night. If you make
Adult Exclusive dining reservations at Palo or Remy, they do have a strict dress code, so please be sure to read about that on their webpages.
I hope those details help as you consider what to pack, Michelle! Have fun planning!
