Ahoy, Madisen!
Thank you for reaching out to planDisney with your
travel documentation question. I'm glad you asked this question because I know you want to be prepared once your
online check-in window opens. Unfortunately, an expired passport will not be accepted because it requires valid dates. If you are sailing on a closed-loop cruise (beginning and ending in the same US port), I suggest submitting a photo of your original state-issued birth certificate. During your check-in at the cruise port, the Castmember will be able to replace your birth certificate with your new passport. With that said, if your sailing does not originate or end in the United States, you will need to wait until your new passport arrives to complete your online check-in. Just be sure to complete it three days before your sail date.
Madisen, I'm crossing my fingers that your passport arrives soon! In the meantime, be sure to download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before you arrive at the cruise terminal so you'll be ready to log in and start navigating all the offerings from the
daily activities to
character greetings and so much more. It will be your go-to guide each day. You'll even be able to "heart" each event you don't want to miss, and you'll receive a reminder 15 minutes before it begins.
It was a pleasure helping you with your cruise question, Madisen. Please let us know if you think of anything else while you count down to your magical voyage!
Nancy
