    I haven't ever used the virtual queue. How does it work? Do i have to be in the park to get started? Just don't want to get locked out of Rise of the Resistance since I'm only there one day. Thanks!

    Bright Suns, Steven!  Your Walt Disney World Resort vacation begins in just a few days!  I can certainly understand why experiencing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance is a top priority for your visit.  This attraction is quite unlike any other!  The scope and scale are truly astounding.

    My friends at planDisney and I have spent quite a bit of time discussing the best strategies to successfully join the virtual queue for Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance.  I'll be happy to share what we have learned.

    Guests who would like to experience Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will need to join a Boarding Group through a virtual queue process.  Guests can access the virtual queue on the home screen of the My Disney Experience mobile app, or by selecting "Virtual Queues" from the menu in the lower-left corner.  Guests must have entered Disney's Hollywood Studios prior to joining the virtual queue.  Current distribution times for Boarding Passes are at 10 am and 2 pm.  Although Disney's Hollywood Studios officially opens at 10 am this week, Guests can usually go through security screening and enter the tapstiles up to around 30 minutes earlier than that to be in the park when Boarding Group distribution begins.

    There is some dissension as to whether you are better off using Wi-Fi or your carrier's cell service; I have seen success either way.  Be sure you have the latest version of the My Disney Experience mobile app.  I also recommend launching the app after you have entered the park and make sure you are logged in to your account prior to the designated time to join a Boarding Group.  If your "Family & Friends" list is long, you may wish to temporarily remove other Guests from your list to streamline the process, as you will need to select the members of your party from that list.  Also, if your fellow travelers are connected with you in Family & Friends in My Disney Experience, any member of your party may attempt to obtain a Boarding Group for the entire party.
