    We have a a dining plan and I have been making restaurant reservations online. I used my credit card to guarantee the restaurant. Shouldn't the reservation use my dining plan credits instead of my credit card?

    One of my favorite aspects of planning a vacation to Walt Disney World is booking my dining reservations!  With such a variety of cuisines and dining experiences available, choosing between restaurants has become quite the tough decision!
     
    Disney instituted credit card guarantees for those dining experiences which are most popular at the resorts and theme parks.  Signature dining locations such as California Grill, Citricos and Le Cellier, to name a few, as well as the oft sought reservation of Fairytale Dining at Cinderella's Royal Table require a guarantee of $10 per person dining, regardless of whether or not the guests are participating in the dining plan.  As these restaurants are quite popular, many guests book and due to circumstances, or perhaps a change in plans, do not arrive for their reservation.  This was implemented to reduce the amount of "no-shows" and late minute cancellations at these venues.  Keep in mind that cancellations for these restaurants must be done 24 hours prior to scheduled dining time, or you will be charged the cancellation fee.
     
    Your dining plan credits will be used to "charge" your meals upon arrival, but cannot be used as a credit card guarantee.
