Welcome, foolish mortals, to planDisney! Kindly step all the way in please.
And greetings to you, Lisa. Thanks for coming by with your question. I sense that we're kindred "spirits" because for me, no visit to the Disneyland Resort would be complete without experiencing the
Haunted Mansion with its 999 happy haunts! However, just like when pranky spirits unavoidably detain your Doom Buggy, I also understand when this extremely popular attraction needs down time for renovations.
The
Disney Parks Blog did announce some very exciting changes to the Haunted Mansion last year! The outdoor queue experience will be expanded and a new shop will be added at the attraction's exit. Apparently, Madame Leota needed a new carriage house for the ghostly steed and Hearse and it will just happen to benefit the Guests by functioning as the new retail space. Some of my favorite souvenirs from the Parks are Haunted Mansion related, so I'm really looking forward to seeing what they carry in stock!
According to the Disneyland Park
Daily Schedule, the Haunted Mansion will be Closed for Refurbishment beginning January 22, 2024. I'm afraid that we don't have a projected end date for this project, but I would recommend that you keep following the Disney Parks Blog for news and updates.
Even without this staple attraction, there's still plenty going on at the Happiest Place on Earth over your visit! The Disney California Adventure
Food and Wine Festival will be entering its final week. This adds a huge variety of foods for a discerning palate and I'd recommend getting a Sip and Savor Pass so you can sample many of them. Although no details have emerged yet, I'm sure that Season of the Force will be sure to add some fun extras for those Star Wars fans.
Lisa, I wish I had more concrete news for you but I wish you a truly magical trip nonetheless. If you need anything else, please feel free to visit again anytime. You're always welcome at planDisney!
“So hurry back, we would like your company.”
