Will the haunted mansion be closed during the exterior expansion planned in 2024? Have a trip in March and was looking forward to going on this ride.

Hi Billy-Joel! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.

Aren't the changes to the Haunted Mansion in New Orleans Square at Disneyland Park exciting? I love that the Imagineers will be building on the existing lore and making the attraction more accessible too.

This attraction is always a must-do for me, so I understand your eagerness to experience it during your visit. Unfortunately, I don't have Madame Leota's crystal ball, so my skills for predicting the future are shaky at best. Without any official word, I can't tell whether or not the attraction will need to close for the full length of construction. I also don't know when construction will be complete, though it is slated to begin in January according to the blog post.

Disney Parks Blog broke the news of the coming enhancements. They're the official source for all updates on the parks, so they're a good one to follow. They promised more news in the new year, so keep your eyes peeled. I'm supposed to visit in March as well, so I'll keep my fingers crossed for both of us that the attraction will be open in time for our visit.

In the meantime, there are additional changes coming to New Orleans Square, and one of those has already opened: Tiana's Palace! This is a new Quick Service location, serving Creole and Cajun-inspired cuisine. It even features a House-filled Beignet, which sounds delightful darling. It's on my must-try list.

    Have a hauntingly good day.
