I’ve had the hardest time getting a reservation for a party of 5 at most restaurants. I was able to book for 4 and am wondering if my infant can sit on our lap? Or is there someone I can call to add an infant?

Hi Kelly. Thanks for reaching out to us here at planDisney. I love answering Guest questions, especially ones about dining!

For your party of 5 to dine at a restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort, you'd have to have a reservation for 5 people, even if the 5th person is an infant that may sit on your lap. Your infant counts towards the capacity limit of the restaurant at which you are eating. To change your party size, find the reservation in your My Disney Experience account or mobile app, select "Modify," change the number of people, and follow the prompts to search for availability. Note that more options may open up closer to your dining dates as Guests are always changing their plans.

I do want to inform you that at certain times, I have found that when it's time to check in for my reservation on the My Disney Experience mobile app, there is sometimes the option to add 1 more Guest. While this doesn't always happen and isn't guaranteed, if you aren't able to find reservations for 5 people, you may have this option when it comes time to dine. You can also inquire about the possibility of adding another Guest with the Cast Members at the host stand before you check in and they will do their best to accommodate you. Just note that the only way to guarantee your party of 5 will be seated is to have a reservation for a party of 5 so I would still highly recommend checking for openings periodically leading up to your reservation.
