Ahoy there, Angelika,
Welcome aboard planDisney! We are so glad you have stopped by with your questions about your first
Disney Cruise Line holiday. You have made a wise choice to select a Disney Cruise as your first cruise voyage. Your itinerary aboard the
Disney Dream sounds absolutely dreamy, with two days at sea and a stop in La Rochelle! You will not want to leave, but you will have so many wonderful memories to take home with you.
On disembarkation day, Guests are typically asked to vacate their staterooms by 8:00 a.m. so the Crew can begin preparing for the next cruise. You will have the option to enjoy one more magical meal before you leave the ship—the location and time of your breakfast correlate to your
Rotational Dining schedule. You can check your
Disney Cruise Line Navigator App for this information.
You may opt to place your luggage outside your stateroom on the last night of the cruise between 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. for delivery to the ship's terminal the following morning. In this case, you will need to wait for the announcement indicating that it is time to retrieve your luggage from the terminal. Once you hear this announcement, you may disembark.
I typically don’t travel with a large suitcase, so I opt for Express Walk-Off, which allows you to take your luggage to breakfast on disembarkation morning. You also have the option to disembark as soon as the ship is cleared by port authorities. Your cruise itinerary indicates that Guests may begin going ashore at 8:00 a.m.
Angelika, after breakfast, I usually linger for a moment to take a few last photos in the main lobby and use the restroom before debarking. Even then, I am mindful that the Crew has a new group of eager Guests to prepare for, so I follow the recommended disembarkation procedure and say goodbye to the ship fairly quickly after breakfast is over. Itineraries vary, so keep an ear out for the actual debarkation announcements and information on your particular sailing.
For your
transportation following your cruise, taxis are available at the terminal. You can also arrange for private transportation.
I’m so excited for you and your very first cruise! Before I took my first Disney Cruise Line vacation, I didn’t think I would enjoy cruising, but after my first cruise, I was hooked and I bet you will be, too. So, here is a tip: Take advantage of an
Onboard Cruise Booking. You can find information about this option in the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App! Please sail back to planDisney if you have any other questions. We are here to help!
Wishing you many magical memories,
Shannon
