What happens with dining reservations during a park capacity closure? how often do closures happen?

    Dear Stacy,

Thank you so much for reaching out to us here at the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your great planning question about park closures for capacity.

It is very unusual for Walt Disney World Resort parks to close for capacity, but it does happen upon occasion and it's good to be prepared. If the park closes for capacity, even if you have an Advanced Dining Reservation, you will not be allowed in. It is a fire code issue, so it's not something that you would be able to get around.

If you have a "do not miss" Advanced Dining Reservation on a date that is prone to capacity issues such as a major holiday, I would plan to arrive at the given park with plenty of time to spare, to alleviate any stress or concern. If you arrive in the morning, it's less likely that you would have a problem with that.

Hope that helps with your magical planning!
