Hey, Lisa!
I think this is everyone's worst nightmare. You plan your
Walt Disney World vacation months or more in advance, poring over the Old Farmers Almanac to try and guess what the weather might be on your trip. You've got your
theme park reservations, you've got your matching family t-shirts, and then you step outside to a rainstorm.
The good news, Lisa, is that Walt
Disney World theme parks are almost never closed for inclement weather. Just about the only weather phenomena that might close the theme parks would be hurricanes, and there's a pretty thorough
hurricane policy in place to help preserve your options to reschedule tickets or
Disney Resorts Collection hotels. There may be temporary closures of some attractions, but the parks rarely close.
I see you'll be traveling next February, and from my state of New Jersey, where the weather in February could be blizzard conditions or 50 degrees. I've had weather impact my air travel from Philadelphia to Walt Disney World only once, and the
Cast Members at Guest Services were so very helpful in assisting me in rearranging my arrival dates and canceling dining reservations.
Weather in Orlando can be unpredictable in February. Plan to dress in layers, bring rain ponchos and shoes that dry quickly (gotta love Crocs in the rain), and know that there are plenty of indoor attractions. If you are bringing a stroller, cover it with a poncho before you go in anywhere - a storm could creep up quickly, and be over before you're ever finished your ride.
I hope your trip is practically perfect, and my fingers will be crossed for excellent weather!
Anna
