I have a handicapped son that has trouble waiting for long periods of time. Is there a way to get to meet and greet the characters without long waits?

    Alison,

The easiest way to meet and greet the characters is to attend any of the numerous character meals at the parks and resorts.  At these meals the characters will come to your table, and are happy to take photos and sign autograph books.

The only other idea that comes to mind, which may be hit or miss, is to use the park "times guide" (which you can get when you pick up a park map) and try to be slightly early for any of the scheduled character meets.  When characters first appear, there is rarely a line, but once they are out the lines form quickly.

Of these two ideas, I really think the character meals will be your best bet.
