Betty,
Thanks for asking your question to planDisney!
You are going to find that the Halloween decorations start to come down the day after Halloween. Actually, the night of Halloween, after the crowds have left the final
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the year! So, the Magic Kingdom begins to transform from a family-friendly Halloween landscape into a winter wonderland on November 1.
While the bulk of the Christmas decorations in the Magic Kingdom Park and other locations start going up right after Halloween, some do start sneaking in beforehand. But decorating 4 large theme parks, two water parks, Disney Springs, and more than 2 dozen resorts does not happen overnight, even with some Christmas magic. The bulk of the Christmas decorations at the Magic Kingdom Park, Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park will be done by the end of the first week of November. EPCOT follows later in the month of November, typically after the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival ends. The resorts will mostly be done by mid-November as well.
My expectation is that you will see the Magic Kingdom pretty well decorated for Christmas on November 1, though there will likely be a few elements still to come. Most, if not all the visible Halloween items should be down as well. I think you will find that the holiday spirit will be ready to go!
BONUS TIPIf you really want to enjoy some extra special Christmas magic this year, consider getting tickets to
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. The first of these parties will be on November 8, so if you are still around, consider it for a special night out. I am going this year, and I could not be more excited!
