Boo to you, Julia. Welcome to planDisney, where the happy haunts materialize to help you plan your best
Disney vacation ever! It’s really not so scary getting your Halloween planning figured out, so let’s get your not-so-spooky question answered right away!
While there is always the possibility that a theme park can hit capacity, it doesn't happen that often, so you can usually put away your hitchhiking ghost worries for now. In fact, when it comes to days where there is a special event that requires separate admission, there can sometimes be fewer guests in the park because Guests with regular daytime admission must exit the park early (usually 6 p.m. EST) and therefore sometimes pick a different day to go to
Magic Kingdom Park. That being said, I always recommend purchasing your theme park tickets once your dates are solid and arriving at the park early if it's a busy day, so there is less of a chance the park will be at capacity when you arrive.
Also, most Guests visiting the theme parks at the
Walt Disney World Resort purchase date-based
tickets, which are assigned to a specific date or a window of dates. These types of tickets do not currently need
Theme Park Reservations, which is one less ghostly detail to worry about while planning your vacation. Annual Passes, student group tickets, sports and convention tickets, and Disney Military Salute Tickets require theme park reservations at this time. If you have one of those types of tickets, I would recommend making a Theme Park Reservation once you've purchased your tickets, just to be safe.
Now, even if you're not planning on attending
Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, your day doesn't have to end at 6 p.m., because the Halloween fun can still keep materializing elsewhere. If you purchase a ticket with the
Park Hopper Option, you would simply hop over to another park! The easiest park to hop to is
EPCOT since it's just two
monorail rides away. Just note that a bunch of other Guests will have this same exact idea, so I'd recommend starting your journey earlier than 6 p.m.
Julia, I wish you all the best on your autumn visit. I hope your trip is filled with more treats than tricks and just the right amount of happy haunting! If you have any other questions,
feel free to bring them to me!
Your ghost host at planDisney,
Matt
