Welcome aboard, Diane! You have one very magical sailing coming up this fall.
Cruising with Disney is always wonderful, but there's even more magic in store on your
Halloween on the High Seas cruise from New York! I just love walking onto the ship and being greeted by the huge Pumpkin Tree which changes throughout the cruise, and taking part in all of the spook-tacular Halloween activities and parties! You're in for so much fun!
You must be asking about the Fish Extender exchanges, which are like little gift exchanges outside the stateroom doors between other guests. This is something that is set up by guests themselves on online Disney fan forums before sailing. It is not sponsored by Disney Cruise Line. My family and I have participated in many of these exchanges and the kids really love it. Why is it called a Fish Extender exchange, you might ask? Outside each stateroom is a clip on the wall that is shaped like a fish, starfish or seahorse. Guests create hanging pockets to be hung from these for the gifts to be left in, thus "extending" the fish clip.
To find out if a Fish Extender exchange has been created for your particular itinerary, check on Disboards.com or do a search on Facebook for Disney Magic Cruise October 14, 2017 to see if anything comes up. On The Disboards, scroll down on the first page to Disney Cruise Line Forums, then click Disney Cruise Meets, find the 2017 Magic meets, then choose your particular itinerary. Join the forum and chat with other guests to see what they have planned for any meet-up's or Fish Extenders. Sometimes they cut off the list for joining the exchange group at a certain date so everyone has time to create the right amount of gifts, so don't wait too long so you don't miss out!
Have so much fun, Diane!
