You guys are so helpful and I have so many questions! This may sound silly, but what kind of pen is best for character autographs? Do they have their own with them? THANKS!

Not a silly question at all. The characters do not have their own pens. If you would like a character's autograph then you need to present them with a pen and something to sign. The characters mostly sign autograph books, but they will sign almost anything you want to give them. I have seen many people give the characters hats, t-shirts and calendars to sign. The characters will try their best to use whatever pen you have on hand, but they do appreciate having a slightly fatter pen than your standard office-supply Bic. (Big character hands can be clumsy and having a bigger pen makes gripping easier.) At the WDW stores, they sell thicker body pens right next to where they sell the autograph books. These work well, but again, the characters will do their best with what you have.

If you want the characters to sign a shirt, hat, or something similar, you should provide them with a Sharpie.

Hope you have a great trip.
