Do some guests, particularly elderly guests, sometimes experience motion sickness on Disney Cruises? If so, what advice can you provide for alleviating or minimizing motion sickness? Thank you!

    Welcome Aboard, Wesley!

There is no way to be certain if a person will experience motion sickness. Sometimes even a person who has never demonstrated symptoms before will become "sea sick" on a cruise ship. Our family is lucky to not have issues with motion sickness, but some of our travel buddies have not been as fortunate.

Once you are onboard, the medical center has an endless supply of Bonine, which is a form of Dramamine. This is often enough to keep the symptoms at bay. If something more is needed, we have a friend who loved the "sea bands" that can be purchased in many of the gift shops onboard. These bands go around the wrists, and hit pressure points that help with the sea sickness.

If you are traveling with a person who is known to experience motion sickness, I would highly recommend that they visit their physician prior to sailing to obtain a prescription medication.

I hope this helps with your cruise planning! Please visit us again with more questions before you set sail!

    Happy Cruising, Tracy V

GAWRSH! Hiya pals! I am a Goofy-loving mom of 2, who is married to my real-life Prince Charming. My family supports my passion for all things Disney. Walt Disney World was my very first vacation, when I was just 3 months old, and I recently completed my 73rd trip to a Disney location! I have been fortune enough to parasail high above the Disney Fantasy, attend opening day of Batuu, snorkel in the lagoon at Disney's Aulani, and SO MUCH MORE! I can't wait to help you plan your Disney vacation!
