Welcome aboard, Lynne! I'm guessing that your family is getting ready to head out on the high seas with Captain Mickey and his crew! There is so much excitement to experience onboard, and so many wonderful ways to prep for your adventure by checking out the wealth of information on
Disney Cruise Line's website! I hope you're enjoying browsing that site to get even more excited about your cruise vacation!
Many guests onboard the ships will wear lanyards so that they can keep their Key To The World Card handy. You'll want to have that with you at all times, as it serves as your stateroom key, identification, charge card and more. If you are a first time cruiser with Disney, you will not automatically receive one like the Castaway Club members will when they check in at the port. But, you're welcome to purchase one ahead of time or onboard in the
Gift Shops. Check out the fun selection of Disney themed lanyards at
Disneystore.com. Some even come with trading pins, which is fun because you can trade pins with Cast Members onboard in the stores, outside
Cabanas, and during Officer Pin Trading night on your last night on the ship. But, pins or no pins, you may find it handy to have a lanyard with a plastic sleeve to keep that Key To The World Card with you. I prefer to carry my small cross-body satchel bag when we sail b/c I like to keep my iPhone in it for photos, and some other little must have's, since I'm so used to having a purse at home, but so many guests will be sporting convenient lanyards. It's totally up to you, Lynne!
Have fun as you get ready for your big adventure at sea!
