Are guests allowed to use the Disney Fantasy Fitness Center Studio when classes are not in session? I have found I do better (motion/balance) with both feet on the ground when exercising on a cruise ship than using a treadmill.

    Ahoy, Danielle!

Your adventure aboard the Disney Fantasy begins this weekend! Can you believe it is this close? I know the next few days may be a little hectic, but it will all be worth it once you are aboard and being treated like Disney royalty for an entire week! The crew has a lot planned as you cruise through the Caribbean. Have you had a chance to download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app yet? It's free to use on the ship's Wi-Fi while your phone stays in airplane mode. Apple and Android devices both work, and it's a great tool to have to check daily events, deck plans and text anyone else in your group with the app.

I often visit the Senses Fitness Center during my cruise vacations and have a few tips that may help you get your workouts in without having any motion or balance issues. First, stop by the fitness center the first afternoon and check out the facility. At this time I would speak with one of the crew members about using the studio areas. I remember last time I was on the Fantasy, I found a small space towards the back corner (I believe where the free weights were located) that I used to do some ab exercises, push-ups and jumping jacks. Also, have you thought about trying one of the classes like pilates or yoga? These are often offered on deck, which allows for more space and fresh air. Class offerings will be listed each day in your cruise newsletter or on the Navigator app. Another idea is to pop in your headphones and get in a few laps around the walking track on Deck 4. This is actually my favorite way to exercise onboard because the views can't be beat. One mile is 2.5 laps and goes around the entire ship. They do have to close the track during docking so be aware of that when you schedule your workout.

    Have a magical time, Danielle!
