We have a guest in our party that has special needs. We let the office in Disneyland know and were given passes to help with lines. Do we need to go to the office in magic kingdom also?

    Hey there, Eva!

I’m absolutely thrilled to welcome you to planDisney! It looks like your visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth is just a few DAYS away, and that kind of countdown definitely calls for a celebration…WOOHOO! The excitement before a Walt Disney World vacation is almost as magical as the trip itself, and I’m so happy you stopped by with your question as you put the finishing touches on your plans.

With your adventure right around the corner, I know you’re probably busy double-checking reservations, packing your park bag, and making sure every last detail is ready to go. So let’s go ahead and dive right into your question so you can get back to checking items off that pre-vacation to-do list.

And while we’re talking about packing…if you’re debating whether or not to bring that extra pair of Minnie Ears, take it from me, go ahead and toss them in your suitcase! In my experience, there’s truly no such thing as too many!

Walt Disney World is committed to making sure Guests of all abilities can experience the magic, and they offer a variety of helpful accommodations throughout the parks. One of those services is Disability Access Service (DAS).

DAS is designed for Guests who, due to a developmental disability, may be unable to wait in a traditional queue for an extended period of time. This service helps provide an alternative way to experience attractions while accommodating those specific needs.

To register for DAS, you can connect with a Cast Member through a live video chat up to 60 days before your park visit. Before starting the chat, make sure you are logged into your My Disney Experience account and that everyone in your travel party is connected through your Family & Friends List. It’s also important that the Guest who is requesting DAS is present during the video chat.

During the conversation, a Cast Member will ask a few questions to better understand the individual’s needs and determine eligibility based on their specific situation.

I’d also recommend taking some time to review Disney’s Accessibility Planning Guide & Recommendations before your trip. It’s a fantastic resource that provides a detailed overview of the services and accommodations available throughout the parks, helping you plan ahead and make the most of your visit.

Eva, I hope this information is helpful as you prepare for your visit and that you have the most wonderful trip. Thank you so much for stopping by planDisney!
