Hi Jenae!
Welcome to planDisney! Let’s chat about some options to make sure everyone gets to experience the attractions they want to!
To start off, you’ll be able to book your next Lightning Lane on your park day as soon as you scan into one when using
Lightning Lane Multi Pass. If you’d like the whole group to be able to book that next Lightning Lane together, make sure everyone has scanned into their first Lightning Lane of the day. Then, you’ll be able to get on your
My Disney Experience app to book your next one.
Now, if your group wants to split up to visit different attractions, I recommend booking all your Lightning Lane pre-selections for the same rides. Then go back and modify the Lightning Lane that not everyone will be using.
Choose the Lightning Lane you’d like to modify, choose the new attraction, and then select only those from your party who need the modification when confirming the party prior to saving your changes. That way, part of your party will get to keep the original Lightning Lane, and the other part will get to experience another one.
It’s good to note that if everyone from your party wants to go on a certain attraction that the 3-year-old won’t be able to, you can utilize
Rider Switch. With Rider Switch, one group goes on the attraction while the other group waits with the little one. Then the groups switch. Just ask the Cast Member at the entrance to the attraction to get it all set up for you.
Usually, when using Rider Switch, the first group waits in the standby queue, and the second group gets to go through the Lightning Lane. But if everyone in your party has a booked Lightning Lane, then the first group will not need to wait in the standby queue after all.
There are lots of
fun areas around the park for little ones that you can visit while waiting for riders to be done with the attraction if using Rider Switch! You will not need to wait directly outside the attraction if you don’t want to.
I hope that helps! Have the best trip! And let us know if you have any other questions.
