We are a group of 8 and it’s everyone’s 1st time except for me. I’m doing all the planning using MDE. I made a reservation for light sabre workshop for 1 child on my credit card. I won’t be with them and they won’t have my credit card. Are they ok?

Thanks for bringing another great question to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shelley!

Savi’s Workshop - Handbuilt Lightsabers is an incredibly popular attraction inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Because of its popularity, reservations can be hard to come by, and the Walt Disney World Resort website indicates that “reservations are nontransferable and may not be sold or bartered.” Therefore, Guests should be prepared to show a photo ID and the credit card used to secure the reservation upon arrival (although an alternate form of payment may be used to pay for the lightsaber at check-in).

If the reservation is in the child’s name, and the child is old enough to have a photo ID, then they should not have a problem checking in without the credit card used for the reservation. If they do not have an ID and are with an adult other than you, there is a chance they will run into some difficulty. Therefore, I would recommend calling the My Disney Experience or the Tours & Recreation helpline to speak with a Cast Member about your best options for ensuring that the child gets to participate in this awesome experience.

In the meantime, please let us know if there are any other questions we can answer for you about your upcoming Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We’re always happy to help!
