We have a group of 8 that are book and paid to stay at Old Key West Villas on March 24th. We have come to a problem and it looks like 2 of our party want to split off and stay separately at a value resort. How do I do this?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Holly! Disney’s Old Key West Resort is a beautiful resort located in the tranquil community of Conch Flats, making it the perfect place to relax after long days spent in the theme parks. From here you are just a short boat ride from the entertainment, incredible dining, and shopping found in Disney Springs. I am sorry to hear that some of your party will miss out on this incredible experience, but there is still tons of fun to be had at the Value Resorts of Walt Disney World.

How you will go about making changes to your current reservation will depend on a few factors: whether you booked the stay using points or cash, if you are looking to change the reservation at Disney’s Old Key West Resort to a smaller villa, and resort availability. Since the 2-Bedroom Villa sleeps up to nine adults, and the 1-Bedroom Villa sleeps up to five, you will want stay with the 2-Bedroom Villa for your party of six if that is what you already have booked. The 2-Bedroom Villa also has two full bathrooms as opposed to just one, making it much easier to get up and ready to head out to the theme parks for the day. If you decide to stay in the same size villa, the two members of your party would simply have to make a new reservation for the Value Resort and be removed from the existing reservation.

If you have booked this stay using Disney Vacation Club Points and you are moving your reservation to a smaller villa, the remaining difference in Vacation Points will be placed into a Holding Account because you are within 30 days of your arrival date. Points placed in a Holding Account will expire at the end of your Use Year if not used. If you booked this as a cash reservation, you may be subject to a $50 change fee. Please note that this price is subject to change. The easiest way to go about making these changes would be to call (407) 934-7639 to speak with a Cast Member or call Disney Vacation Club Member Services at (800) 800-9800.

I hope that you and the rest of your party have a magical stay in Walt Disney World and a wonderful vacation. Please stop back by if we can help answer any more of your vacation questions.
