Greetings! My family will visit DW 4/2015. My daughter is a daisy in girl scouts. Are there any opportunities for her to earn a badge while visiting? We are unable to attend YES program in May/June.

I am so glad you asked this question, Alison! I have Junior and Daisy Girl Scouts in my house, and had no idea they could do this. It is wonderful that your daughter wants to work towards her Daisy Petals while on vacation. I spoke with the Girl Scouts of Citrus, located in Orlando, FL, and found out there are so many activities your daughter can do to earn complete steps towards her Journeys while at Walt Disney World Resort.

While there are Disney Youth Education Series Programs (YES) that the Girl Scouts can participate in to earn Badges or Petals, there are plenty of other activities to complete in all four theme parks. Take a look at the program guide found at http://www.gssne.org/docs/contribute/WaltDisneyBadges.pdf . All of these activities that go towards the Journeys sound so fun! I know my little Daisy will love putting together a photo collage of courageous and strong animals that will go towards the Tula Petal. Our social butterfly Junior is now planning plenty of questions for the Epcot World Showcase Pavilion ambassadors that will help her earn the Citizen Inside Government Badge.

If your Daisy Girl Scout leaves her Journey book at home, you can contact the Girls Scouts of Citrus via any of the methods noted on their website at https://www.citrus-gs.org/about-us/Pages/contact-us.aspx . The wonderful leader I spoke with said they would be more than happy to help fellow Girl Scouts while they are in the area. Be sure to share with your daughter’s Girl Scout leader what she completed when you return home from your trip.

I hope you have a great visit to Walt Disney World Resort, Alison, and please let me know if you have any further questions.
