Greetings. My 9yo & I have a QS DDP for our August trip. Saw kids have to order kids menu if available. If we order something for him off adult menu somewhere without a kids menu, is there a way to verify his child credits are used? Thanks in advance.

Hi Joshua and welcome to planDisney! You’re in luck! I recently had a stay at Walt Disney World with my two little ones during spring break and we also did the Disney Dining Plan. The kids eat free promotion is such a great deal and a great way to explore all the great restaurants Walt Disney World has to offer! Now, let’s dive into your question!

If you plan to visit a quick service restaurant that does not have a kids menu, you can certainly still order something for your son and have it count towards one of his dining credits! If you’re doing a mobile order through the My Disney Experience app (which I HIGHLY recommend to schedule orders in advance and avoid waiting in lines!), before you check-out you have the option to verify whether you will use an adult quick service credit or a child quick service credit for each meal in your order. Now for places that don’t have a kids menu, it may default to an adult quick service credit, so you’ll want to double check that you’re selecting a child credit for any meals you’re ordering for him. Alternatively, you can also order from a Cast Member and indicate that you want to use a child quick service credit. Whichever method you choose, make sure you save your receipts and keep track of your credits on the My Disney Experience app. If you see any discrepancies, the Front Desk Cast Members at your Resort may be able to help or adjust any mistakes.

Bonus tip, here are a couple locations that I visited during my last trip that don’t have a kids menu where we ordered. Just note that this is always subject to change since menus are constantly being updated. If your son is like my little ones, this might be helpful since sometimes they get tired of chicken fingers or other standard kids menu items and want to sample new kinds of food!

Joshua, I hope this information is helpful for you and wish you all the best to you and your son this summer! Don’t forget that as part of the Cool KIDS’ SUMMER promotion, you’ll be able to visit a Disney water park for free on your check-in day, a great way to make a big splash on your summer stay! If you have any further questions, please feel free to contact me and my fellow panelists here at planDisney!

    Your pal,
