Greetings! My family would like to return to make some magic in Disney. We are hoping to book a room with bunk beds in the Animal Kingdom resort, but as hard as I try, I am not able to find those rooms listed there. Have they closed those rooms down?

Jambo Wendy! Thanks for coming back to planDisney with your question!

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is such an amazing resort! I was lucky enough to stay here for the first time on my last trip to Walt Disney World Resort and it was nothing short of incredible.  Even without a Savanna View room, I woke up to flamingos and gazelles right outside my balcony window! If you're interested in such an immersive and close-up experience with animals, don't let your search for bunk beds stop you!

You're right that bunk beds are difficult to find in Animal Kingdom Lodge because during the latest renovation the bunk beds were removed.  However, if you're looking for more space but still want to feel like you're far away on an African safari, there are still plenty of options! You might look into Disney's Animal Kingdom Villas - Jambo House or Kidani Village.  With studios, one-bedroom and two-bedroom options, you're sure to find a villa that is a perfect fit for your party.  Many villas even include a full kitchen and a washer and dryer! Being in Central Florida you never know when you'll need to dry your clothes (or shoes!) after a mid-afternoon downpour!

If bunk beds are really what you're aiming for I have a few ideas!  The Cabins at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort are a secluded piece of comfort among the hustle and bustle of the Parks! With rocking chairs on the front porch, a set of bunk beds, and quick and easy water transportation to Magic Kingdom Park, this might be the perfect Resort to make you feel like you're in an outdoor lap of luxury!

One other option, (though this is MORE than a place to lay your head at night!) would be to check out the new Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.  This "2-night, immersive adventure" is already booking, and the standard cabins have two bunk beds each!  I'm honestly not well-versed in Star Wars, but after experiencing the wonder of Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at Disney's Hollywood Studios and reading about how Guests play a necessary role in this immersive adventure story, I just know that I need to add this experience to my bucket list!

I hope that you're able to find exactly the type of room you and your family are looking for. With so many options, bunk beds or not, you're sure to find the perfect place for your family to hunker down and make some magical memories!
