This is a great panel! We arrive 10/6/2009 in the early afternoon, and are looking for somewhere nice to go for dinner. We are staying at the Pop Century, and have 2 children, age 6 and 8. We don't want to go inside a park.

Hi Taralynn and thanks so much!

You are in luck, there are a number of delicious & unique restaurants located in the Disney resorts and Downtown Disney where you can enjoy a wonderful meal. Here are some of our favorites.
    • Chef Mickey's at Contemporary Resort. Buffet style meal served during character dining experience. Great selection & the atmosphere is fun & lively. Plus Mickey is there.
    • Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian. Located on Lagoon across from Magic Kingdom, this restaraunt features tender filets & mouth-watering seafood choices. The view of Cinderella Castle is beautiful. If you are lucky enough to time your reservation right, you can enjoy Wishes during your meal.
    • T-Rex at Downtown Disney. Ok so not the fanciest of restaurants but the dinosaurs & details are so cool. The food is good and the menu is quite large, including one of the largest children's menus on property. Great family restaraunt and plenty to keep the kids attention.
    • Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk Resort. This locations features a great open kitchen with a select seasonal menu. The speciality here is seafood, and it is some of  the best we have ever had.
    • Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. This sophisticated location takes familiar foods and adds a touch of African flair. Amazing environment with a very peaceful feel.
    • Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge. This rowdy, fun-loving restaraunt is a family place for sure. The suggested dinner choice is an all you can eat family style selection of meats (like BBQ ribs), salads and vegetables., however there are a few a la carte menu choices. Our meals here are often met with plenty of antics and laughs.

All of the Disney restaurants are extremely popular and I highly suggest making advance reservations at 407-939-3463. Reservations can be made 90 days in advance, and some fill quickly.

    Happy dining!
