what is a great, newer resort for adults with a spectacular pool on the disney property and what are some awesome things to do at all 4 parks for adults that are in their late 50's, early 60's

    Valerie,

You are singing my song! When my wife and I make a kid-free getaway to Walt Disney World, our plans always include some pool time (my wife's demand), and something new and exciting to do in the parks (my demand). The formula always equals fun.

Let's start with your resort question. Disney's Riviera Resort is the newest of resorts, and it has both a family-oriented feature pool, and a quiet pool, so you should have the best of both worlds. The European theming is a nice and subtle touch as well.

If you want a pool that is even more over the top, Stormalong Bay Pool, the pool shared by Disney's Yacht Club Resort and Disney's Beach Club Resort, is by far the most featured and extensive resort pool at Walt Disney World. It includes a sand-bottom pool area, and a lazy river.

Now let's get to something exciting in each park. Here is a first suggestion for each

    • Magic Kingdom Park: The Keys to the Kingdom Tour has been a long-standing favorite of Disney fans for years. You get to see the park from a completely different venue, and because it is available only to those 16 and older, the little ones won't be getting underfoot.
    • EPCOT: There is no doubt that food is an adventure unto itself, and if true, then EPCOT is the epicenter of the excitement. Rather than go on an organized tour or sit down for a big meal, my wife and I prefer to slowly tour the 11 nations of the World Showcase. As we go along we either split a small food item or an adult beverage from one of the stands in each country as we explore their different stores. The shopping is fun, and the food is even better.
    • Disney's Hollywood Studios: I grew up on the Star Wars movies, and there is no doubt that Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge can make those stories come to life. In particular a visit to Oga's Cantina will make you reach for your lightsaber (or blaster).
    • Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park: The animal experiences here are really spectacular, but for something a bit off the trail I would suggest you consider the Wild Africa Trek. Maybe it is the exotic lunch enjoyed from a perch in the middle of the African savannah, or perhaps it is walking a rope bridge over a crocodile pit, but either way it certainly earns the title of 'awesome'.
I could offer up more ideas. Just write me back and let me know more about what you like to do, and I can send more ideas your way.

    Have a Magical Vacation!
