    Great forum!! My family and I are returning to WDW after a (long!) 8 year hiatus. We love to ride bicycles. Is it possible to rent bicycles and use them to move about WDW? Thanks! Curt

    Hi Curtis,

    Let me be one of the first to welcome your family back to Walt Disney World. There are many new additions and changes to the parks and resorts but you will also find the classics that I am sure you love and remember.

    Bicycle touring is a popular pasttime at quite a few of the resorts on property and bikes are available for rent in numerous locations. The bikes are available for use within the resort areas that you rent from and I do not know of any rental locations where you can use the bikes for your stay to move around the property. Honestly, given the layout of WDW's roads, the continous traffic, and the amount of space still left for nature, I would not consider it easy to manuever around the entire Disney World property on a bicycle. 

    Bike rentals are currently available at the following resorts: Boardwalk, Caribbean Beach, Fort Wilderness, Old Key West, Saratoga Springs, Port Orleans, Shades of Green and Wilderness Resort. Many consider the best biking trails to be found at Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground as well as the neighboring Wilderness Resort. Boardwalk and Caribbean Beach offer a casual bike around the water and there is a nice path that runs from Port Orleans through Old Key West towards Downtown Disney.  The rentals are usually by the hour and prices depend on the the size of the bike to the length of the rental.
