Hello there, Hilary,
Welcome back to planDisney, and a very merry unbirthday to you! I'm thrilled to hear your grandson will be celebrating his 7th birthday during your visit. In my opinion, there's no place more magical to celebrate a new year of life.
You'll be able to
preorder a celebration cake as an add-on to most table-service dining reservations. You'll have the option for dark, milk, or white chocolate cake and an assortment of messages to choose from on the cake's adorable mouse ears. I'll be celebrating my own birthday at
Walt Disney World Resort in September and I'm strongly considering ordering a dark chocolate cake to top off my birthday dinner.
Since your visit is fast approaching, I'd recommend making
Advance Dining Reservations for any of the "must-eat" restaurants on your wish list. You'll be able to do so 60 days in advance, and if you are a
Disney Resorts Collection Hotel guest you can book for the length of your stay, up to 10 days, at the 60-day mark. I think a
Character Dining meal would be a great way to celebrate your grandson's special day. You'll see a prompt to add a celebration cake to your reservation at eligible restaurants as you complete the reservation process.
You can also begin reserving activities from the
Enchanting Extras Collection 60 days in advance as well. I enjoyed a
Fireworks Dessert Party on a visit to
Magic Kingdom Park last year and really loved the whole experience. If you're looking to add a little extra pizzazz to the birthday celebration this would be a fun option!
Hilary, I hope this helps you plan a very magical birthday experience for your grandson this summer. If we can help with anything else please stop back and let us know.
Magic and memories,
Amy
