Hi Ruby!
Welcome to planDisney! I am SO glad you came to ask your question!
Disney’s
Art of Animation Resort is SO cute! With huge statues of some favorite Disney characters, and a Finding Nemo themed pool, it appeals to kids of all ages! (Even this 40-something kid-at-heart!)
It sounds like you have a Finding Nemo Family Suite booked, which are the closest to the Big Blue Pool and the Animation Hall, which houses the food court. Buses pick up guests from in front of Animation Hall to take them to all of the theme parks, Disney Springs, and water parks. The
Disney Skyliner is located behind the Finding Nemo suites as well. This can take you to both Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
BUT, if you have a Lion King fan in the family, I would not hesitate to move to a Lion King Family suite. These buildings are the NEXT ones out from the Finding Nemo suites, and are on the bus transportation side of Animation Hall. It will be a slightly longer walk to the pool, but you could potentially be closer to the bus transportation to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Plus, all of the cute details in the Lion King suite will surely make your grandson smile the whole time!
Also, with your small Simba fan, be sure to see the awesome
A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King show at Disney’s Animal Kingdom! There is also a super-cute Lion King photo background just to the left of the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom.
I hope you have a wonderful visit to the Walt Disney World Resort. Please do not hesitate to come back to planDisney with more vacation planning questions!
