Can my grandson bring a 10 inch plastic sword onboard for Pirates night?

Welcome aboard, Laura! Pirate Night on each Disney Cruise Line vacation that my family and I have enjoyed has been one of our favorite nights of the cruise! Your grandson is in for a swashbuckling good time when you take part in Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean Deck party and all of the other pirate fun!

While it didn't used to be a problem to bring a plastic pirate sword from home, there are some new regulations regarding toy weapons. Toy weapons of this sort are now on the prohibited items list, so he will not want to bring his own from home. However, be sure to pack some other fun pirate gear like hats, costumes and other accessories. All guests onboard will receive a Mickey's Pirates IN the Caribbean bandana in their stateroom that day, but many guests go way over that when it comes to dressing up for pirate night. You'll see everything from a simple pirate themed t-shirt to folks in full pirate attire. It really is a great night!

Have a great time on your cruise, Laura!
