As a grandmother taking her 7 and 11 year old granddaughters on their first cruise can I sign them up for adventures, Blue Lagoon, etc and not participate myself? Will I still have to pay for myself?

    Ahoy, Veda!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! A Disney Cruise vacation with your granddaughters sounds just wonderful, and I'm sure they can't wait to experience this magical journey with you. They are the perfect ages to enjoy the fabulous youth programming on board. Together you can catch a first-run movie, a Broadway-style show, meet your favorite Disney Princess or just enjoy a delicious ice cream cone on deck! There is something for everyone aboard a Disney Cruise ship.
When you venture ashore, you will need to accompany them on Port Adventures since Guests under the age of 18 do require an adult to be present. My advice is to pick a few excursions you are comfortable participating in and then let the girls pick which ones you'll do. There are plenty of great options that don't involve water. Also, the ship is a destination in itself. When the ship is in port there will be plenty to experience, so there's always the option to stay aboard especially on the girls' first sailing. The daily cruise newsletter, the Personal Navigator and the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app (free for download for Apple and Android devices) will be your go-to guide for all the ship's happenings!
Thank you for stopping by, Veda! Good luck with your plans.
    Have a magical day!
