Welcome back to planDisney, Amy! We’re honored to help you with such a special request.
How beautiful that your family’s love for Disney started with your grandmother and has been passed down through generations. What an incredible connection to have, especially with those pictures of your great-grandpa and Walt Disney—what a treasure!
Since you’ll be visiting on your grandmother’s birthday, there are some really meaningful ways to honor her memory at Walt Disney World. One idea I love is creating a personalized keepsake tile at the
Tomorrowland Launch Depot in Magic Kingdom. This shop, located near TRON Lightcycle / Run and Space Mountain, offers customizable souvenirs that can be designed to celebrate her legacy. These tiles continue Disney's tradition of personalized keepsakes that started with the "Walk Around the World" program years ago. Guests used to have their messages engraved on hexagonal bricks that were placed near the Magic Kingdom entrance. While that program has ended, this new offering is a modern way to carry on the tradition of commemorating special moments and loved ones at Disney, and take that piece of the magic home with you.
You might also consider having a special meal at a place that feels connected to her or something she loved—maybe enjoying a dinner at
Be Our Guest or just sharing stories about her over a sweet treat from the
Main Street Bakery. And don’t hesitate to tell Cast Members about her. They love hearing stories like yours and might even sprinkle a little extra pixie dust your way to make the day unforgettable.
Wishing you and your family a magical trip filled with moments that remind you of the love and joy she brought into your lives.
If you have any additional questions, please don’t hestiate to bring them to us. We’re always here to help add some extra pixie dust to your Disney vacations!
