Welcome to planDisney, Ryan! You ask a great question.
You are correct that if your grandma would like a stateroom just for herself, she will be charged the
same price as two Guests staying in the same room. My mother-in-law found herself in this predicament a few years ago. She opted to book an
inside stateroom right across the hall from us. This decision helped her save some money, and she could enjoy our verandah while still having her own space.
Rest assured, Ryan, there are flexible options available. One such option is temporarily moving someone from your stateroom to your grandma's. Upon boarding the ship, you can easily move the person back to your stateroom. Alternatively, family members can take turns keeping grandma company each night. There's no better way to feel spoiled than a slumber party with grandma!
When it comes to
modifying a reservation, it depends on whether the ship is full and whether the lifeboat has room if she can add someone later. However, keep in mind that making any changes to a reservation can incur additional costs. That said, I believe it’s much easier to add a Guest now and remove them if needed later. You can even change the second Guest if someone else decides to come along.
I know you are just starting to plan your Disney Cruise. If you have any questions, please sail back to planDisney. I’m happy to help!
SEAS the adventure!
