Hello, Cathy! Welcome to planDisney.
I understand wanting your own sleeping space when sailing with a friend. When I took a Disney Cruise with my sister, I discovered that the beds do not split. I slept on the single convertible sofa and found it pretty comfortable. It’s actually a mattress that folds down, not a traditional sofa bed. Another option is to share the queen bed and ask your stateroom host for extra blankets. This way, you can each have your own covers.
The
staterooms in the Disney feet are one of a kind! Most cabins have a split bathroom, making getting ready much easier! Should you choose the convertible sofa, your stateroom host will draw a privacy curtain that separates the area into two sleeping spaces each night. I found this helpful when one person wants to stay up and read or keep a small light on while the other wants to sleep.
Alaska can be quite cool, even in the summer months. I always had a lightweight sweater while walking around. The pools are headed, but the air temperature will feel cold when you dry off. On Friday, the
Freezing the Night Away Deck Party will be held. The ship transforms into a wintery wonderland to match the Alaskan chill. There’s a flurry of activities happening around the ship during the day. Even the dining rooms take part and feature some traditional Nordic cuisine. After dinner, Deck 9 hosts a royal party with the Arendelle crew.
To keep tabs on all the fun activities, make sure you download the
Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to your phone. From character meet-and-greets to live shows, trivia, animation classes, and more, you'll have everything at your fingertips.
I hope you fall in love with Alaska as much as I did. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions or need assistance.
