Hello Annie,
Welcome to planDisney! Thanks for stopping by with your question. How exciting to have your grandkids coming for a visit soon and that they have a chance to visit Walt Disney World Resort, too. They are visiting at a great time to enjoy all the magical trick-or-treat festivities!
Annie, only Florida Residents can take advantage of Florida Resident discounts. Any adult (age 18 and over) using a Florida Resident ticket will need to provide
valid proof of residency. For Guests under the age of 18, a guardian who can provide proof of Florida residency must be present when activating the tickets.
To verify your Florida Resident status for your ticket online, rather than verifying in person at the parks, you can use one of the
approved methods of identification. All you need to do is complete the “Your Florida Resident Information” form during the ticket purchase check-out process on the
Walt Disney World website or complete the “Customize Your Tickets” information if you purchase your ticket in the
My Disney Experience app. The verification is not always instantaneous, so please do this ahead of when you plan to activate the ticket.
While your grandkids are visiting, Annie, I hope they are able to attend
Mickey’s Not-So-Scary-Halloween Party at Magic Kingdom Park. Remind them to check the
Special Events Tickets schedule to see if tickets are available during their visit. It is a not-so-frightful and oh-so-fun party with
special fireworks, entertainment, trick-or-treating, and a
BOO-tiful parade!
I hope this helps you with your planning, Annie, and that your visit with your family is filled with magical memories. If you have other questions, please let us know.
Remember, you are the magic,
Shannon
