Hiya, Colleen, and thanks so much for visiting planDisney! I'm so glad you found us. I see that you're heading to
Walt Disney World Resort in just a few days, so we don't have a moment to lose. You certainly don't want to be late for your very important date! Let's get right to it, shall we?
I'm a mom of two dancers, and over the years we've gotten to see them perform in a few different settings at Walt Disney World. It's such a cool opportunity! From what I could discover, it appears that your granddaughter may be traveling with a tour group organized by a third-party travel company. These are common for performing arts groups visiting The Most Magical Place on Earth, and the tour operators handle all of the details to make the trip a memorable experience!
Colleen, if this is the case, you should reach out to the point person working with the tour company to double-check the details of the performance at
Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In my experience, if you are attending a performance in one of the theme parks, valid theme park admission is required - but this may be different if the kids are dancing outside of regular operating hours.
I did see some tour itineraries online that included performances at Theatre In The Wild at Animal Kingdom (the regular home of the show
Finding Nemo: The Big Blue...and Beyond!), but there was no information available for 12/14 events when I spoke to some Walt Disney World Cast Members earlier today. Again, your best bet is to ask your granddaughter's parents or guardians for the most up-to-date information direct from the tour company and their school/dance studio liaison. I'm sure this is a question that others have, too!
I'm sorry I couldn't give an exact answer to your question, Colleen, but I am sure it is going to be so special watching your granddaughter do her thing on the Disney stage! Be sure to have your camera ready! Thanks so much for stopping by planDisney, and please come see us again anytime if we can help with additional questions.
See Ya Real Soon!
