Hi Katrina,
Thanks for swimming on over to planDisney with your question about pools at
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. We are so glad that you are here with us. Pull up a lounger, grab a tasty frozen beverage, and let's chat!
We love the pools at this particular
Disney Resorts Collection hotel. Why? Not only are they super conveniently located just steps from most Resort hotel rooms, but they are wide open, clean, and so fun! When our girls were little, they loved it when the giant bucket filled with water and tipped over with a huge splash at the Beach Pool Water Play Area. Then, of course, once they were a little older, everything was all about that 181-foot long waterslide, as it remains.
While neither is open a full 24-hours per day, they do have quite extended hours. Currently, you can find the perfect spot to relax at the Courtyard Pool from 7 AM - 11 PM or the Beach Pool from 10 AM - 11 PM. This means that you might, like my family, want to enjoy a quick dip after closing down a theme park and before bed. (That's how you know we are on vacation time!)
If you are dreaming of even more aquatic adventure, consider a visit to
Typhoon Lagoon Water Park. With attractions for the whole family, there is always something new to discover. Ride the wave at
North America's largest wave pool, let the little ones explore
Ketchakiddee Creek, or take the entire crew on a journey down
Miss Adventure Falls. That's only the start! Fill your whole day with excitement at this Disney water park. As our pal Crush would say, "It's totally awesome, Duuuude."
Tip: One way to convince our crew to have a seat for a few minutes during an action packed day at Typhoon Lagoon is with the offer of a
Root Beer Float from Happy Landings Ice Cream. Go for it! Your feet will thank you.
Well, Katrina, I hope you will come back and visit us at planDisney with any other questions that you might have as you plan the perfect Walt Disney World Resort vacation. We are always there to help!
Adventure is out there,
Sally
